Erectile Dysfunction Drug-free, non-invasive vacuum device

Active3 Erection System penile vacuum device.

A rechargeable electric vacuum erection device designed for drug-free, surgery-free management of erectile dysfunction. The content is institutional technical information for physicians, hospitals and procurement teams.

01 Overview

Drug-free, non-invasive management of erectile dysfunction.

The Active3 Erection System is a rechargeable electric penile vacuum (vacuum erection) device designed for management of erectile dysfunction without drugs or surgery. The negative pressure created inside the cylinder increases blood flow to the erectile tissue and helps an erection to form; a constriction ring then applied to the base of the penis supports maintenance of the erection.

The electric pump head allows the vacuum to be controlled with a single button; compared with manual pumping, this suits users who prefer automatic operation or who have limited hand strength. Manufactured in Germany, the device is classified as a Class IIa medical device. Lisa Health provides hospitals and physicians with documented supply of the product, sizing/accessory consultancy and institutional documentation support.

02 Operating principle

How does vacuum therapy work?

The device creates negative pressure inside the transparent cylinder into which the penis is placed. This vacuum increases blood flow to the erectile tissue and thereby assists erection. Once an erection is achieved, a constriction ring is placed at the base of the penis by means of a ring loader; by temporarily limiting venous return, the ring supports maintenance of the erection for a certain period.

  • Electric vacuum generation: automatic negative pressure controlled by the button on the pump head.
  • Graduated pressure: the vacuum is increased in stages; the device is designed to limit excessive vacuum.
  • Air release function: the vacuum can be released in a controlled manner (usually within seconds).
  • Constriction ring: applied with the ring loader and worn for no more than 30 minutes.
  • Lubricant: supports the seal and ease of use.

08 Q&A — Operation and safety

How the device works and safe use.

How does vacuum therapy work?

The negative pressure created inside the cylinder increases blood flow to the erectile tissue and thereby assists erection. A constriction ring then supports maintenance of the erection.

How is the device used?

The cylinder is placed over the penis, a vacuum is created to increase blood flow and, once an erection is achieved, the constriction ring is applied.

How long can the constriction ring stay on?

The ring must not be left on for longer than 30 minutes.

How is the constriction ring applied?

Once an erection is achieved, it is placed at the base of the penis using the ring loader.

How is the correct ring size chosen?

Starting with the largest ring is recommended; if the erection cannot be maintained a smaller ring may be used, and if there is discomfort a larger one.

Can third-party rings be used?

No; only the original rings supplied with the set should be used, as others may not be compatible.

How is the device charged?

It should be charged before first use and after long periods without use.

Can the device be used while charging?

No; the device must never be used while charging.

What do the indicator lights mean?

Flashing red indicates a low battery, steady red indicates charging, and white indicates a fully charged battery.

Can side effects occur during use?

Mild bruising or discomfort may occur; these usually resolve within a few days.

Can excessive vacuum cause injury?

The device is designed to limit excessive vacuum; if discomfort occurs, the pressure should be reduced and use stopped.

What should be done if the erection is not firm enough?

The vacuum can be increased in stages or a different ring can be tried; if the problem persists, the instructions for use should be consulted.

Can the device be exposed to water or moisture?

No; the pump head must be kept dry and away from water.

09 Q&A — Sexual function and care

Function, reproduction and device care.

Is sexual intercourse possible with the device?

It is possible once an erection is achieved and maintained with the ring; results vary between individuals.

What happens to ejaculation during use?

Ejaculation may be temporarily retained and not visible; this is generally harmless.

Is conception possible while using the device?

It may be possible; accessories such as the ACTIVE LOOP RING can help the ejaculate to be released.

Are constriction rings a method of contraception?

No; the rings are not a reliable method of contraception.

Can the device be used together with other therapies (e.g. ICI/SKAT)?

In some situations it can be used in combination on a physician's advice; it may support distribution of the medication.

Does regular use support erectile function?

It may support blood circulation; results vary between individuals.

How is the device cleaned?

The pump head should only be wiped externally with a damp cloth and must not be immersed in water. The other parts can be washed with warm water and mild soap.

Are the Active3 (AES) and manual system (MES) components compatible?
